Using Propane Safely in Your Business
To safely enjoy the benefits of our propane, there are a few aspects you should keep in mind. Treat your propane cylinders with care, ensuring at all times that the body and valve are not damaged.
Keep your cylinders in an upright position and store them in a secure, ventilated place, far from potential hazards such as stairs, escape routes, garbage, abundant vegetation, and flammable materials. Get your propane equipment cleaned and checked on a regular basis, and familiarize yourself with the operating instructions to keep your workplace happy and safe!

Maintenance
To ensure the correct and safe functioning of your equipment, your propane cylinders and tanks need maintenance from time to time. As we carry out our regular checkups, we will look for potential leaks that could put the well-being of your people at risk.
We will also double-check that all your equipment is hooked up properly. We’d rather be safe than sorry! As a gentle reminder, we recommend you always give your propane equipment some ‘breathing room’, clearing the surrounding area from other materials. And don’t forget to keep your propane in an airy, well-ventilated space, too!
Propane safety FAQs
Propane is a colorless, odorless, and nontoxic liquid gas that can suit a wide range of operations without faff, fuss, or hassle.
It doesn’t spill, pool, or leave residue that might lead to slips and injuries.
It is also the most eco-conscious fossil fuel available on the market. By producing fewer emissions, it provides your people with a clean, welcoming environment, while also having a limited impact on the well-being of your surroundings.
Propane has a high ignition temperature, too. This means that it’s less likely to ignite accidentally.
Yes, propane is safer than oil.
Firstly, compared to oil and coal, it is significantly more eco-friendly, as propane is the fossil fuel with the lowest CO2 emissions. A propane-powered business has a lower carbon footprint and creates a healthier space for its workers and customers.
Propane equipment also requires less maintenance than oil machinery. So, as well as requiring fewer checkups, it is less likely to run into issues and cause potential safety hazards to your people.
If you suspect that your propane equipment isn’t working as it should, but aren’t quite sure if it’s actually the case, look out for a few telling signs.
Can you smell an unpleasant odor of rotten eggs or skunk spray? It might indicate that you have a leak. In this situation, make sure to get in touch with us as soon as you can – we’ll come to your rescue!
Keep an eye on potential soot. Propane is a clean-burning fuel, so it doesn’t leave residue around your equipment. If you spot soot, it could mean that your propane isn’t burning properly.
Again, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll sort you – and your propane – out in a flash!
